Landed Cost Calculator

The price on your supplier's invoice is not what your product costs you. By the time a unit reaches your warehouse it has also carried freight, import duty, insurance, and customs & broker fees — and that gap quietly eats the margin you think you're making. Enter your own numbers for one shipment and see the true per-unit landed cost.

Your numbers, for one shipment of one SKU

Your true landed cost

Landed cost per unit
$0.00
Vs. supplier price
Supplier unit price what the factory charges per unit $0.00
+ Freight per unit total freight ÷ units in shipment $0.00
+ Duty per unit duty rate × supplier unit price $0.00
+ Insurance per unit total insurance ÷ units in shipment $0.00
+ Customs, broker & handling per unit total fees ÷ units in shipment $0.00
= Landed cost per unit $0.00
Total landed cost, whole shipment landed per unit × units $0
Read this as a costing estimate, not a customs ruling. Landed cost per unit = supplier price + freight/unit + duty/unit + insurance/unit + fees/unit, and the five lines above add up to exactly that total. Duty here is charged on the goods value (units × supplier price); real duty may be assessed on a CIF value or carry extra fees, tariffs, or anti-dumping charges — confirm your actual rate with your customs broker or your product's HTS code. Every number here comes only from the values you typed.

How to read it

Why your real margin drifts even after you've done the math

You calculate landed cost once, enter a product cost into Shopify, and move on — but the inputs keep moving. Ocean and air freight rates swing, duty and tariff schedules change, FX shifts, a supplier quietly raises unit price on the next PO. Meanwhile the cost field in your store still shows the number from the first shipment. So your reported gross margin looks healthy while your real margin has quietly slipped — and because nothing errors, you only notice when the bank balance disagrees with the dashboard.

How Ops Monitor keeps your cost data honest

Ops Monitor connects to your Shopify (and 3PL/ERP) with read-only API keys and watches the numbers your margins depend on — flagging cost or margin figures that look stale or implausible, prices that fall below recorded cost, and inventory or sync drift that quietly corrupts the data you plan from — then alerts you by email or Slack the moment something stops matching reality.

It is read-only: it never writes to your store and never changes prices, costs, or stock. It detects and alerts — it does not re-cost your catalog or guarantee your margins. One caught pricing-below-landed-cost SKU is usually worth far more than the $149/month price.
